Woman 2 Woman “Strength of a Woman” Conference – Host: Kimberly R. Lock

I am so full right now!  The Woman 2 Woman Conference truly was a blessing.  To know the strength that you have as a woman is so powerful.  OMG, from the bedroom set for our “Pillow Talk” with Pastor Melva Henderson, to the awesome word from Eldress Rhonda Cotton, First Lady Kimberly Lock and the amazing Chauntel McKenzie was so great!  I am at a loss of words right now, but I just want you all to know that if you missed this conference, you missed something BIG!  Yesterday and today was so very AWESOME!!!  I just wanted to come on and talk about it a bit.  I am getting all kinds of emotional right now, so I am going to end my blog post, but I am still on cloud 9.  I am a strong woman of God and I will not settle.  My life has purpose and I will walk in my purpose!  Thank you Lord.  What are your thoughts?  Do you know your purpose?  Do you know your strength?

Happiness and Marriage

Everyone wants to be happy, but who’s responsibility is it to make you happy?  When I asked several people, this question I was a little surprised at the responses that I received.  One person said it is her parent’s responsibility to make her happy because she didn’t ask to be here, and since they made that decision it is their job.  Another person said, it is his wife’s responsibility to make sure he is happy because he is the head of the household, and the last person I asked said it is her husband’s responsibility to make sure she is happy and spoiled.  Anyone who knows me will tell you that my husband spoils me, but I don’t think it is that he spoils me, he just knows what I like, and he makes sure I have what I want at times.  I don’t think things going my way or getting things that I want is happiness.  They are pleasurable, but my happiness is my own responsibility.  Being married is so much more than just being happy although being happy is great in marriage, but what about love, loyalty, trust, commitment, sacrifice, compromise and peace to name some?  Marriage is a partnership and both parties involved should communicate as to what is expected.  Again, your happiness is your responsibility, so don’t give up the power to make yourself happy.  When you make yourself happy your spouse will be happy!  Self help is the key.  I am not saying that your spouse should not do things to make you happy, I am just saying when they do it is merely a bonus.

I also touched on this in my book!  Just an observation. 😊

Unearned

I absolutely love the way God loves me.  It is unconditional, and he gives me favor along with unmerited grace and mercy.  We did not earn it, he just gives it to us, so think about that for a minute.  Who wouldn’t serve a God like that?  Well, there are so many who think they are just here to be here and others who feel like God owes them something, oh and I really pray for those who blame God for the mishaps that occur in their lives, but they don’t look in the mirror because they don’t want to see who the real culprit is.  Stop blaming God for your problems!  Stop telling God how big your problem is and start tell the problem how big your GOD is!  Once you do this, your problem with no longer be problematic!  You are victorious!  Be thankful for Gods Grace and Mercy and give him praise because it is due to him.

Hebrews 4:16 (AMP)

“Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment].”

Forgiveness

When someone says that they forgive you do they really mean it?  Do you really mean it when you say it?  Forgiveness is letting go and not returning to it.  Although we aren’t perfect, we have to honor Gods word and forgive wholeheartedly.  Don’t say you forgive just to say it because if you bring it back up, you really did not forgive.  I have heard people say, I forgive but I don’t forget.  This is what Luke 17:4 says about forgiveness; “And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.” There are many times when any of my family or friends upset me or hurt me I just let it go, but did I really let it go?  To be honest, I can’t say that I have let everything go because there were things that I spoke about in my book that hurt my heart to the core, but I never told the person or people who hurt me.  It was therapeutic to write it out because it allowed me to let it go and not dwell on it.  I realize that we were all young and didn’t really consider one another feelings, but I hold no grudges about it and I hope no grudges are held against me. I love everyone with the love of God and one thing I have learned is that you have to give a person an opportunity to apologize to you.  If you don’t tell them that they hurt you or offended you how will they know?  Matthew 6:15 sums it up for me, “But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”  This is why I refuse to hold a grudge and I suggest all of you reading this feel the same way.

If there is anyone you have been unable to forgive, just let it go and forgive them anyway because your life depends on it.  Thank you for reading my blog.  God bless you!

Ask, Seek, Knock

I wasn’t sure how things were going to go once I started on this journey of authorship.  I asked God to enlarge my territory and when I say he moved fast, it is not a joke.  I am so busy and it is amazing because it is a good busy!  I know that Matthew 7:7 says 7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” I have so many things brewing right now and God is the reason for it.  When you are lining up with the word of God and you ask him for something he will supply not only your needs, but your wants as well.  The Prayer of Jabez encouraged me to ask!  It is so powerful, so I wanted to share part of it with you.

1 Chronicles 4:10

And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested.

Keep God at the forefront of your life and follow your dreams!

Thank you for reading my blog and have a blessed day!
